Black seed oil is not all the same. Black seed oil capsules from Natura Nova contain 500 mg of virgin oil from Egyptian Nigella sativa – unrefined, processed in a vegan HPMC capsule shell, without any additives. Egyptian Nigella sativa is considered particularly aromatic and rich due to the climatic conditions and soil quality in its growing region.
Nigella sativa – known in German-speaking countries as black cumin – is an annual plant from the buttercup family and has been used for thousands of years in traditional plant knowledge in the Middle East, North Africa and Europe. The oil is extracted from the small black seeds and has long been part of nutritional science considerations worldwide. “Virgin” means that the oil is obtained without refining and without heat treatment – preserving the natural composition of fatty acids and secondary plant compounds.
Black seed oil and its main active compound, thymoquinone, are the subject of current nutritional research – you can find a detailed overview in our plant knowledge article.
For Natura Nova black seed oil capsules, only virgin oil from Egyptian Nigella sativa seeds is used. Processing in an HPMC capsule shell makes the product fully vegan. Production takes place in a GMP-certified facility in Germany. Every batch is laboratory tested for purity, identity and microbiological parameters.

Frequently asked questions about this product
What is black seed oil?
Black seed oil is extracted from the seeds of the Nigella sativa plant. It naturally contains polyunsaturated fatty acids, including linoleic acid as the main fatty acid.
What does "virgin" mean in black seed oil?
Virgin oil is gently pressed from the seeds, without high heating or chemical extraction. This largely preserves the oil's natural ingredients.
Where do the black cumin seeds come from?
The Nigella sativa seeds used in these capsules come from Egypt, which is considered the main cultivation area for high-quality black cumin seeds.
Why capsules instead of liquid oil?
The capsule form allows for a precise dosage of 500 mg per capsule and protects the delicate oil from oxidation. The dark glass packaging offers additional light protection.
Is the product vegan?
Yes. The capsule shell is made from modified starch and glycerin — completely plant-based, without animal gelatin.
How long does one pack last?
One pack contains 60 capsules. At the recommended daily dose of 1 capsule, it lasts for 60 days.
